This interactive visualisation shows the number of projects awarded to a given institution between 2007 and 2013 under the European Union seventh framework programme for research and technological development (FP7). It also enables the user to compare the number of projects awarded to institutions on a per country basis.

The orginal dataset comes from the European Union Open Data Portal, and includes 174 countries and over 30.000 institutions. This dataset has a number of issues, in particular because certain institutions appear various times with different spellings or different names. We are progressively correcting these mistakes.
